A is deservedly a cult classic and it's good that it finally got the attention it deserved in the 2000s (when a lot of people retrospectively discovered it). I love its ramshackle stomp and swamp vibe. Great track.
I quite enjoyed B, which was new to me I think, it had a George Harrison covers The Beach Boys kind of vibe. The performance and sound of the thing was stronger than the song though. The latter didn't really grab me, although that might change with further listenings.

The Wray track, is of course seminally robust, full of energy and high on the bounce factor. Delightful
As for Blunstone I have heard better

When I SAW the songs, I thought 'this one HAS to go to Link and not that effete Brit warbler'
- but 'Fire and Brimstone' is at LEAST 90 seconds too long.
And the Blunstone thing is spirited and melodic and it gets my vote

There are so many better tracks on "One Year"...indeed this may be my least favourite track on the album.
The Link Wray is a decent tune, without ever reaching any great heights.
I think it's A.

Nice start! Dig the hell out of both, honestly. But A is the track from its respective album, while B seems a deeper cut. Plus it's got every wonderful 70s cliche - those duel guitars! That glammy vocal! That spacy piano in the background! Yet manages to not be totally predictable. Now I want to hear the album.

Hmm. A is so much not my kind of thing, and it doesn't really sound as joyful and infectious as it wants to be. It's a bit clunky, and only occasionally gets anywhere near the vibe it's striving to reach. Not much to it, is there? Might be fun if you were sat round a campfire singing it with him, but sat on my own in a room in Wigan, it's pretty pointless.
Ugh, horrible piano intro. It feels like a really bad off-cut from one of David Bowie's pre-fame albums. Trying to get some kind of pop-hook working in the phrasing of the vocal, but having that really ham-fisted piano clanking around with some wanky guitar. Not for me, Clive.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Tough one, but Bluestone could sing the phonebook and I'd vote for him, and nevertheless I enjoyed B a lot.

Love both of these, terrific match, so close but I'll opt for B as Blunstone's voice is irresistible.

Both excellent choices, but I'd rather go for the sheer beauty of B.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Battle of the stones.
I like Link Wray but not this particular track. It has groovy lead guitar and that’s about it.
