When the 'decades' cup was first mooted, I thought it sounded like a horrible idea, but it's since grown on me. I'd like to give it a shot, and if Maarts (or someone) is willing to organize it, I say go for it!

Two things:

* Usually the BCB Cup is starting at the beginning of each year. Is it still going ahead, considering some of the comments being made here?

* I' ll be on holidays from Jan 31 until March 6. Someone else mat have to drive this.

Here's a thought about the "Cup Of Cups" as The Modernist called it.... we need to decide how the final will be played as we're probably only going to choose four tunes... is it then a free-for-all (literally any four) or from four separate decades of the posters choice, or four separate decades decided in another way.... that will need some consideration.

I was thinking of a 'free-for-all' too - like the original Cup, any decade / genre / whatever, but the song-v-song format. Not sure if that would work, tho.

Instead of a "free-for-all" how about a "free pass" cup. It's like a normal cup, but you get double points as soon as someone claims that "this type of music gets a free pass on BCB".
