I felt you went a bit " the alt cool canon" in picking both The Stooges and MC5. Nevertheless it was a strong set and you deserved to win. The Macca and Fall choices were just very idiosyncratic choices on my behalf and I wasn't expecting anything from the voting. I did feel, though, the Billy Paul track deserved better as it's a really strong piece of music, it didn't deserve to lose that tie.
Sorry to those who didn't enjoy the tracks selected in the final, but what these competitions show time and time again is how different and personalised our tastes are. I think most people on here only have two or three other posters ( that vote) who they have a broad set of tastes in common with. That means the majority are always likely to be disappointed with the final set of songs, no matter who reaches the final.
Many thanks to Maarts who kept things going while others flagged. Once again exemplary service from you. Now have a rest from the cups fella, you deserve it!
