I really want to pick A but it is not my favorite track by Basho by a long stretch. B is one of the best Spear-tracks on a great album.

Basho comes across so earnest, he really wants to be liked, in a folded arms, cocked head sort of way. But Burning Spear is my man, any performing artist who'd let me skin up on his stage, right below him, is worth a tick in my book of love. B

To get Robbie Basho, I guess you need to get over those vocals. The atmosphere of the thing wasn’t unpleasant and I can understand what people like about it. It’s not for me. Against it is one of the better of the reggae submissions we’ve had. It’s got enough to win here.

a - well, I rather like Basho's quavery, unearthly singing voice, with it's touches of John Hurt and other lost mid-century arcana. And somewhere in the spaces between the keening, and the relentless rhythm of the guitar, magic happens. Loved it. 7 / 10
b - I was never particularly impressed by this at the time, largely because I'd read a great deal about Garvey for my doctoral thesis, and wasn't impressed by the sentiments of the song, although I can't see that bothering many people here . It sounds fine, but it also sounds like many other fine things to my uneducated ears. 5.5 / 10

Another good match. Quite like B, I should definitely get a little closer to Burning Spear, but A is sublime.

I'm a mad fan of B, finally a reggae song I can vote for with the utmost of confidence

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

The really scary thing is, that does look quite a lot like a teenage me.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.
