Re: 70s Cup Round 8 Match 4
i quite like that buckley track. it may be obvious, but it's so much more preferable than the two other buckley tracks in this cup. there is a weird beauty to the track, even though his vocals ever seem overdone to me. i like the siren sounds in the background, too, kinda washing in.
B is new to me, and it is full of stuff i love, interesting changes in pace and direction, groovy sound. it doesn't alllll work for me on first listen, but it makes me wanna hear more.
i'll give this one to a new discovery.

B is alright, for Canterbury

Now that I know that B is part of the Canterbury scene, I'm comfortable in giving a drive-by vote to A

Good match. A's utterly lovely and handily the better track here, but B's new to me and pretty enjoyable too - I think it's the best "prog" track so far this cup that is unfamiliar to me. Hmm... For the sake of this game and so on, I reckon B takes it by a hair.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A this is a much nicer Tim song then the one earlier in the cup. Love Tims powerful vocals and guitar parts.
B - classic Canterbury with a Carol Grimes- sort of Canterbury meets San Fran.
Love the second half jam over Carol's howling.
