God that is a rancid Slits track.

That Slits "tune" is pretty near unlistenable. I would've gone for 'Man Next Door' or something like that for sure (except I see that that was released in '80, oh well), so B's quirky dance pop wins it easily.

I didn't think either was very good but B was less rubbish.

The Slits are a band where the “obvious” ones are clearly the ones to go for. This has their sound but no tune. Against it, B is a tonne of fun. She looks a bit like Charlotte G too, which is interesting given old Serge’s appearance at the start. A find!

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

not crazy about the slits track.
B *was* fun in its way. not as fun as, say, the flying lizards covering money, but still fun.

This.
And B is so bad it hurts, I mean whats the point covering Arthur Brown like that....? Here's a Lizzy track I rate highly (but that was five years later, in the 80s).

This tie for some weird reason makes me think of AbFab. Perhaps because both vocals reminds me of Edina Monsoon at her most playful, obnoxious and expressive.
Don't know really, both didn't do much for me.

a - I was never a great fan of Ari Up, but I liked the Slits fine as a concept and indeed an instrumental combo with a distinctly feminine sensibility and no embarrassment if it all got a bit shambolic, which I always enjoy. I bought Cut, and while I didn't play it through that often, this track, with its frankly deranged piano, was one that always caught the ear. 5.5 / 10
b - Oh dear. I'm probably the only person on BCB who thinks Arthur's performance on the original of this song was an embarrassing load of pants, and it could certainly do with a makeover. Unfortunately, this isn't it, and it doesn't have half the wit, invention, delight and sheer chutzpah of Love and Romance. Even a sax solo and whoever is galloping along with those coconut halves can't save it.
