Great Larry Graham bass opening, but I don't know why someone would choose this Sly song.
Still wins.

B is where I like my funky soully stuff to be. No twiddling around; nothing superfluous. Rhythm, edge and that vocal.

A. I was going to say 'Miles still had it in 1974' but I just found out it was recorded in 1969!

Re: 70s Cup Round 2 Match 13
There are so many many better examples of 70's music by both these artists.....
I really got bored of the Miles track around five minutes in.
The Sly one took five bars.

Yep, Wikipedia has it listed as recorded in November 1969 but the original release date is listed as April 19,1974. So it is correct.

A reminds me to give my dad a call...(Big jazz head) and B goes overly long, for what it is....Vote for A

A because it's Miles Davis. No other explanation is needed.

It seems a lot of crap is being drawn together..and then you get two smart picks like this.
I'm an old time fan of the Sly album (although I've not listened to it in yonks) and so I can quite understand why this track has been picked. It's all about its tight interlocking groove and vaguely ominous feel. But it's up against a marvellously expansive and colourful Miles track. That's a great pick A.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I like both of these and it's difficult to choose but I really go into the groove of B although initially there didn't seem to be an awful lot there.

Re: 70s Cup Round 2 Match 13
Pufff, that Sly track is terrible. Strange pick, maybe the intention was to pick the original Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), faster and much more friendly, but released in December 69. Maybe it would have stood a better chance in front of A.
But not for me

I find Miles overrated.
The Sly tune is repetitious. But they are nothing if not exceedingly polite.

Both terrible. I find myself strangely drawn to voting for Miles.
