Congrats to A for picking something that's less than 9 minutes long, anyway. If I were to judge it purely on musical merits, I'd say its main quality is its brevity. It's very wholesome, just like the rancid acidic brew it advertises, it will no doubt cause intestinal trauma if suffered regularly.

Lou Reed solo is pretty annoying though. I like his voice, it's got a kind of warm and inviting tone to it, even though you know he was an irascible auld twat. Makes me wonder how he got such a sense of self-righteous importance when he sang such banal bog-standard MOR rockage as this. Give me MMM or give me death. Or a third alternative that's not so extreme. Still, it's not a coke jingle.

I'm voting A just because I think it'd be hilarious to see Lou losing to a Coke ad.

Coney Island Baby is also one of my favourite Lou records and this fits it like a glove. Lovely. The jingle is a nice gimmick but it’s an easy

I admire the bravery of submitting a jingle and I'd probably like it if it wasn't an advert but because it is it can go fuck itself.

Going with A. Why the hell not? It's a nervy pick, the very definition of 70s, and I can think of at least a dozen better Reed tracks off the top of my head. And actually, it's a good song, and no less noble a purpose (selling sugary beverages) than most music of the time (making cigar-chomping executives wealthy while surviving on bread and water).

A is a commercial, B is Lou Reed, not the best track from Coney Island Baby, but still good enough to beat a coke ad for fucks sake.

Very nicely put, G!

This rings true as well.

But while B is great, nice guitar and all, Lou's wobbly voice annoys the hell out of me.

A it is.

Why can't commercials be art? This sounds as 70s as anything else you can throw up, and its more enjoyable to listen to than B. And I like Coke. Damn me being in the pockets of BIG SODA

Not to mention its not a song that's fucking 4 hours long.
