This is tough, I'd like to give half a point to each as I love them both but as I can't, it's A

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

Not Todd's best by a longshot but it's the easy winner here.

I could vote for either of them anyday. Love both and wish they wouldn't face each other. Today I feel like

Two great tracks but it is difficult to beat the genius of the mighty Top.

For the oeuvre, I'd take Top over Todd, but here it's a vote for Todd. B

I get there's a place somewhere for A, but not in my neighbourhood! They sound like they should be underneath a pick-up truck, not in a recording studio. It's witless, ponderous and drone-like, about as sexy as BO and I lasted 23 seconds.
I feel I should like Todd, but there's a bloodless and precious quality to his music I really don't like. Still I'll take it over A, but then I'd probably take Adolf Hitler (The Nuremberg Outtakes) over A.

Oh I don't know..I was schooled in a South London comprehensive, so I'd happily fancy my chances!
Anyway Top are about as tough as a wheezing Father Christmas...which is what they both look like and sound like.

Do you think they've ever got up in the morning, found hairs all over the sheets and then found a bit of muesli somewhere in the beard there and thought "ah for fuck's sake I'm tired of this nonsense every day, shall I not just get the bleeding thing sheared off"?
I think Todd Rundgren has his moments of genius but he's far too fond of throwing every idea he has on record. This one has a nice tune married to something that's playing in the background of a kids' TV show with a dinosaur doing handicrafts.
B probably.

Re: 70s Cup Round 2 Match 4
As if seeing the words "ZZ Top" wasn't bad enough, seeing the words "Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers" next to it really makes my heart sink to mariana trench depths. How the hell do you even get to a place in life where you think, yeah, I'm going to write a song about how I drink beer and I'm pretty wild with it? Why the hell did anyone buy it? Was that it? Doesn't even really feel like a song, it really peters out in the most half-arsed way, like the sound engineer got bored of the tool doing a solo, and couldn't even cope with a longer fade.
Todd Rundgren I'm filing with Zevon in the really famous bloke I know nothing about. His face looks like it's slowly started to melt on each side. It's a proper anodyne nondescript radio friendly instant custard of a track. You can imagine that you could play this 300 times back to back, and still not be able to recall a single thing about it. Governments could use it to broadcast secret messages in times of warfare, because it instantly auto-erases from memory.
But its not ZZ Top.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Tough call. Nevertheless that's one of the Top's weaker tracks.
B is rather Todd by numbers but I thinks it's the better of the 2 tracks.
