A bit of an underwhelming opening tie for me.
A sets up quite a moody musical backing, but the main vocal is pretty dull and the song doesn't really go anywhere. B seems quite generic, there was a lot of this kind of slacker power pop produced in the US in the 90s, but it's pleasant enough radio fodder.

Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Don't care for A, sorry.

B's guitar work reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins. It'll have to do.

Both are okay in an inoffensive sort of way. I'll go with B because it has more guitar feedback.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

I haven't gotten around to New Mother yet so A is new to me, and it's very good indeed. Wasn't B already submitted once before in one of the previous runs? Anyhow, it's pretty solid too but doesn't particular call out to me.

Edit: As a matter of fact it's indeed the case: http://www.bcb-board.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=139585&p=3975050

Well spotted. You'd think whoever picked it would have noticed that.
I presume that's a forfeit then?

A is something of a brave pick, given the lack of love shown for Michael Gira in the competition so far. I consider the Angels of Light's second and third albums to be the best work of his career, but this one doesn't quite do it for me, there's something lacking about the album as a whole, and its not something I dig out very often. This is a good track though, I don't actually recall it, but the backing vocals take it array from its more introspective nature, and point more in the direction of the later work when Akron/Family were the backing band.

B was up against Crescent first time around, and I didn't vote for it then, even though it wasn't exactly premium Crescent. It still sounds like a middling American alt.rock tune.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Are we allowing this?

If so, my vote is going with B because i like it more.

It wasn't picked by the same person as the other round, but yea, they should have noticed it already went up...(And was only successful because it went up against me...lol..)

I had noticed it but it's not a forfeit as far as I can see.... It's proper 90s music.
Even if there are doubled up tracks, the players that I approach can leave the track standing in their list as it is.
Not the smartest thing but if B wins here, it would be quite unique.

A takes this one. I quite like Built to Spill, but anything Swans/Gira related is hard for me to vote against.

A is a nice arrangement let down by a lame gothy vocal.
B has already been used once so has no business appearing again.
