Whatever atmosphere A conjured up was dissipated once it went into a very mundane (non) song. It tested my patience and was pretty dull.
B is the kind of dance track that no one ever danced to and which never got played in any decent club. It's an early attempt at reviving the early 80s sound, but the lack of any kind of interesting song or beats mean it is doomed to failure.

A weak tie this..I'm going B because there is a germ of a decent idea there somewhere.

God I hate Tindersticks

B, because it is a Eurodisco song about how shit Eurodisco is and that rocks.

I really didn't like B.

A showed a bit of promise occasionally :)

Because it's a bit of variety

As I've already mentioned, Tindersticks' debut album is probably the indie/mainstream album of the decade. You could have Agaetis Byrjun, but lets be honest, no-one heard that till 2000 at the earliest. I wouldn't have picked this song, the three tracks which follow it are their three greatest songs, but still, it drips with a late night dusky and dirty atmosphere. It feels sweaty, sordid, and languid, and is obviously going to win my vote, if not the votes of the cloth-eared above.

Weren't Bis like Menswear, one of the bands that the NME hyped before they'd actually released or recorded anything? I'm certain they were much less polished and bland than this when they first started releasing stuff. This is a Republica B-side, remixed by The Pet Shop Boys. Again, actually wretched.

B is wretched, dull, and endless. Were they a good interview or something? They have "NME next big thing forgotten two weeks later" written all over them.

A has the usual mannered vocal, but at least raised a bit of heat.

I like Tindersticks more when they're in reflective mode, and I think they got better at writing "songs" later on, but this number still has enough drama and style to win; then again, the only way they could lose to B is if they for some reason turned up and accidentally played 'Party All the Time' by Eddie Murphy.
