B is another that doesn't really stray much from the trappings of a genre that's very much of a previous era. But once again the playing's good, and considering A is very 90s - in that it pounds one not-very-interesting idea into the ground - it's more than enough.

I remember the original of A which was a low-fi post punk track called "Another Reason" which was a Peel fave at the time. I think DIV had to pay out royalties in the end. The DIA is an effective mood piece.
I think B is the third jazz pick so far and for me the best yet, by some distance. It reminded me of Yusef Lateef amongst other things. Definitely one for me to check out further.
Good tie..B

Hmm, I'm surprised "Aisha" wasn't the Death in Vegas choice, it's a better song and has another way to crowbar someone from the 60s into a 90s cup. It's not much of a track, but I guess it never was meant to be, given the title.

So, onto track B. Which I kind of hoped for something more incendiary from Mr Ware, it's a bit on the wrong side of the taste police. But it's a better pick than A.

That Death in Vegas album was always just "OK". Each track sounded good for a minute but went on and on and on without doing anything more of note.
B is pretty standard, as jazz goes; it sounds like an average album track from the '60s. But it's enough.

Ware doesn't test my patience like Sharrock did in the previous round so thank God for that. Still,

Should have gone with Dirge 2 which is a far superior and krautrocky version.

But beats man practising saxophone upstairs handily enough

A is getting unfair short shrift here - it’s an effective if clearly signaled piece and takes it away from yet another jazz pick. Was the 90s really such a big jazz revival decade?

Both of these started off well and developed nicely at first but A became a bit too dirgy for my liking even though that was obviously the intention judging by the title, while B lost me a bit when it went all free-jazz. Difficult to pick one for the vote but B has just a few more elements to it that float my boat.

Tired of music, tired of this cup, tired of life. Can't be arsed.
Flicked through both and found A to be noisy
