Fuck me, following up on Staralfur with Come to Daddy. The competition has suddenly lit the afterburners. If you want chugging stupid electronica with over the top vocals, snare rushes, and lovely grinding noises, it's hard to beat this in the digital age. I'd still pick The Virgin Prunes track of the same name over this, but there's not much that could be more targeted in a dark and fishy direction. AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but by Christ that CPR track sounds like the image. I've never heard of 'em before, but I would expect that every charity shop and bargain bin has a mega-shit-ton of tedious lumpen wank like this, and all of it recorded 20 years earlier. An offense to mankind.

A would love to haunt my dreams, but is far too cartoonish.

B is dated, wimpy, slick and whatever such adjectives you can throw at it. It's going to lose by many, many votes. But it does have the Croz. And I still have my WCC membership card.

I don't but I'd still choose it over that relic from the West Coast c. 1975

I always found that AT track really dull, even more so for its tiresome efforts to be creepy. B appeared to be from an 80s Budweiser ad.

I have no access to CPR's tracks as it seems to be unavailable in my country and there doesn't seem to be a copy of it elsewhere. I've never been a particular far of that Aphex Twin track either, as others remark it's always seemed too cartoonish to me even if there is the occasional interesting texture and so on. But yeah, can't vote in this match, sorry.

The Aphex Twin track is a piss-take. I doubt even he would put it forward as one of his finest moments; it was more an attention-grabbing joke. Aphex Twin for people who don't like Aphex Twin, perhaps.

B is dreadful though. Fortunately I grew up in the UK and we didn't have this kind of thing there.

Some of you are taking Come to Daddy way too seriously. The cartoonishness is deliberate and as PENK says it's taking the piss. It was his response to "extreme" acts like The Prodigy which were becoming more mainstream at the time and the video reflects this as well. Piss-take or not though, I still think it rules. Huge amounts of noisy, creative fun.

That CPR thing is utter piffle.
