A is probably my least liked thing in the whole competition (even in a competition containing Placebo and Molly Hatchet!) so I was always going to vote B. But luckily it's one of my favourite Massive Attack grooves, dark and claustrophobic.

At 2.31 A overstayed its welcome by precisely 151 seconds.

B which is a fucking fantastic tune anyway.

I bloody love B but it is a bit like picking Man U as your favourite team in this context.

I really enjoyed A, I am sure they would get trying over a stretch of time above 10 mins but for now

Hmm, I think G talked up Nation of Ulysses a bit too much, I generally thought it might be a bit better after his comments. It's not bad, though you'd have thought this kinda thing was a bit dated by the 90s. Spiky guitar and snotty vocals. Oh, but I'm liking the Alice Donut-esque trombone coming in towards the end, it should've had that throughout.

It's a close run thing, this one, and although Massive Attack are an obvious choice, this isn't as obvious as "Unfinished Sympathy". Tricky's remake of this track was a better rendering, though I do like the Coil-style hollow synth tones that occasionally enter the mix. You have to say, this is much more 90s than A.

B
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

There are things similar to A that I like, but they get the raw, spiky punk thing down and also have things like hooks and riffs and stuff. These guys seem to have forgotten those. Weren't they a Svenonius vehicle? Minus points for that too.
B is another solid Massive Attack choice, though it wouldn't have been mine ('Protection' maybe).

A was irritating. B was more irritating.

now THIS is a tough one

I'll go with:

A

which I not only love but it has the added appeal of angering The Baron (if he's watching)
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I don’t see the point of A at all. In this match, it’s pulled a water pistol against a Gatling gun. B is one of Massive Attack’s finest moments, an entirely successful progression of their sound -I love their collective rapped songs, particularly with Tricky in tow; they should have done more in this vein rather than increasingly relying on guest vocals and 3D solo/lead. Anyhoo, it’s ace and it’s an easy

Great match. Really like both of these, but am going with the one i'm less familiar with, A.
