a - I'm with fange here. As soon as the yelping starts I twitch towards off. I quite like Slash's silliness, but you can't mess with an Everly and get my vote. No mark
b - I like a bit of shoegazing, me. Not a million miles from the Wall of Sound, the idea of filling all available space. Although I'd prefer Kitchens of Distinction. But this'll do.

I used to love A when I was 10. I don't love it now, but still nostalgia wins it here.
