Re: 90s Cup Round 3 Match 9
It feels like A has some serious intent so I feel a bit bad glibly dismissing it, but anyway it struggled to hold my interest and it felt like I was being held captive during a boring lecture.
B is no great shakes and I'd rather hear the original, but it's fun and I desperately reach out for "fun" in this competition like a drowning man trying to grab a lifebelt.

I'd be extremely annoyed if some fucker dumped handfuls of foliage in my bath. Couldn't cope with A; sorry.

Not being a Luke Haines fan, I don't think I've heard Black Box Recorder before. I quite liked this despite a slight smug air about it, but it outstayed its welcome.
And I don't think I've ever heard anything by Salt'n'Pepa outside 'Push It' before. 'Push It' is a lot better.

Had it been "Push It" this would have been a lay down for B.
But it's not so A gets the vote.

B is more lighthearted hip-hop; I may eventually tire of such stuff, but it hasn't happened just yet.
As for A, you, ma'am, are no Isobel Campbell, and you, sir, are surely no Mark Lanegan.

That guitar intro to "Child Psychology" is a straight lift from a Drugstore track. I'm trying to hunt it down right now. Can't see myself voting for this, either way. Can't find it on facebook, I know this is something I'll find again in 18 months time when it's far too late to be relevant.

I like A, except for the lyrics.

B isn't very good. But it's better than A.

Both are pretty terrible. But I suppose B has the edge here.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I'm still stunned by how much I saw that Black Box Recorder song on MTV Australia back in the day. I like it, but I can't imagine it doing much for the mood of schoolkids at the time it was most played (5 in the afternoon generally)
B is great fun, even if the lyrics set men an unattainable level of success and physique to reach
