I'm glad that the more commercial side of hip hop has been represented. This track was a blast then and I still enjoy it now( no doubt someone will complain about it being overplayed, but I hardly ever hear it now so it's fine by me).
B only lasts 30 seconds. I lasted 15.

It's an easy one. And I don't even love A.

A is another undeniable hip-hop classic.
Guided by Voices have about 400,000 songs and a few of them are good. I have no idea why you would pick this one. Bizarre.

B is an embarrassment.
I really dislike A but at least it attempts to be a song.

A is absolutely fucking horrible, it's sub-Will Smith shit, and Tupac was a complete cunt, so fuck him.
I'm voting for Guide by Voices by default, no matter what, who I'm fairly sure are normally tedious. But as thirty-second shambolic rock tracks in the style of Half Japanese go, this is quite nice.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Re: 90s Cup Round 3 Match 7
I can imagine B to be refreshing in the context of a varied album. Self- standing, it's an utter head-scratcher.
A doesn't run terribly deep, but I tend to like the more lighthearted songs by artists that generally take a harder approach. Plus it's so nicely produced; the best hip-hop is the stuff that uses disparate elements to unite rather than divide. This was on my short list, in fact, for that very reason.

Oh rubbish, the production is magnificent. And if we're gonna be judging singers on whether they were morally-upstanding individuals who always made the right choices and bought cookies at their local school bake-sales we'd be right fucked.
B is cute, but this is not close.

And yes, G, it's still over played.
And yes, G, it's still over played.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Just to clear up my agreement with Fish, it was about his thoughts on the track itself. I don't actually know enough about Tupac as a person to have an opinion either way, and generally I follow the idea that art shouldn't be evaluatued by the artist's actions or person outside that role. By that coin there's quite a few artists Fish and I like that we should absolutely not tolerate, considering the predisposition for right-wing and intolerant ideologies musicians in genres like neofolk tend to adhere to. But as artists at least there's much to admire in their work.

Guided By Voices are absolutely fucking useless, a complete con. Regardless, A remains a legitimate pop rap banger and still fresh to these airs. Walkover.
