A walkover. Going Blank Again was a touchstone record for me, played the hell out of it and it still stands up, for those that like this kind of thing. Twisterella is a cracker, and was a surprise, a first indication that Ride were about to branch away from the energised shoegaze that made them. The Hawkwind is not for me.

I enjoyed both of these songs quite a lot, neither are deserving of the (some of which incredibly lazy) criticism they're copping.
Fuck it, I'm going B for being more of a pleasant surprise.

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

a - I bought a few Ride records, but never really got into them and was glad to move them on. Don't know if I've heard this before (I'm supposed to tell them apart? Who knew?). As I was already past caring about such things at the beginning of the decade, I never put any passion into loving or hating genres or bands or movements, meeting most with a shrug, and so can listen withjout prejudice, or jadedness, or whatever, and I thought this was undistinguished, but all right, no more, nor less. 5 / 10
b - never a huge fan of any but a couple of tracks, and haven't listened to anything from after the 80s by these guys. Started promisingly, then the shouting started. the spacey noises helped, but they seemed tacked on. Meh. 4 / 10
