Ah, old Ratcat. Brings a nostalgic smile to my face, and naturally copping a BCB hammering. I love A and almost picked it myself - one of my faves from the album - but i'm giving B my sympathy vote.

I vaguely recall Ratcat from the time but couldn’t name you a song. There’s a generic 90s Fountains Of Wayne, theme from Friends type perkiness there. Whatever, it’s completely outclassed by a song from one of the latter half of the decade’s finest LPs, the very ace Bled White.

First listen to either for me too and I thought exactly the same.

I liked A a little more though

Ratcat didn't exactly set this comp alive either, wanting to be The Rembrandts isn't an admirable ambition. But it's not fair that they get crushed by the equally bland smudger.

Ratcat were new to me & though I'd never purposely play it again, its pop playfulness just edged it.
