A is wonderful and hilarious, and so much better than the song it's based on. However it is not a cover. At best it's an adaptation.
If I didn't like B I might consider bending the rules, but I don't think they should be bent that far outside of more extenuating circumstances.

A is an absolute blast, and it's absolutely a cover. Nothing wrong with changing the words.
B is, yep, a funky cover of a Beatles song. How novel!

This is a no brainer for me, B is a really interesting choice, partly because this was quite an idiosyncratic choice to cover for an act like The Five Stairsteps. Nice pick.

How come this is not a cover and Patti's Gloria is?
At this stage of the competition, I can happily take it over B.

The song credits for "Gloria" clearly say Van Morrison while A's credits make no mention of William Broad. Big of him not to sue, he probably could have, but got to play it where it lays.

Re: CC GRAND FINAL- Match 6
While A is better than the original, it seems a bit crappy to pick a novelty track at this point.
B's gone for the better angle, picking the non-obvious choice of cover. Even though it's The Beatles again, it earns my respect for going for picking something not everyone will already have heard, and I applaud the intention, if not the actual tune.

Re: CC GRAND FINAL- Match 6
B perhaps suffers from bad timing. It’s very good but it’s another Beatles cover. But it’s probably the best Beatles cover so far and it’s up against A so

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

B is alright, but at this stage, A was simply more fun!
