I don't know what to make of A, I'm half tempted to dismiss it as formulaic gimmickry, but it's also an infectious blast of energy. I think I like it, even though I'm trying not to.

I'm probably the only person who doesn't know the original of B, but this cover sounds very much like a Beatles track being played by a hirsute bloke with a guitar in the 70s. That is never a good thing. A kicks this one to the floor, and boots it in the unmentionables.

A
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Hillage adds nothing to the original, other than making it duller.
A is almost too frantic for its own good, but I like its irrepressible energy.

Agree with Moddie about B. He's well-matched to the song, but if anything it veers too close to his style. He does nothing with it other than that pointless coda.

A is another genre exercise, but this one is interesting and lends itself surprisingly well. One of my favorites of the whole cup so far, in fact.

A is perhaps not to be encouraged too much, but fun for a short while. B is just the definition of "inferior cover".

A

surprisingly, because the original of the other is usually my favorite Beatles song
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

There’s an extended version of A complete with long instrumental freakouts but this shorter version is also great (and the wiser pick, in a cup context) and is all too much for B.

One of the best ties of the whole cup, if you ask me.

But the Billy-Stewartisms irk me quite a bit in A (and it's winning by a great margin), so I'll give my vote to my favourite British wooly-hat hippie.
Incidentally, the solo at around 3:42 was among my favourite air guitar moments.
