There is a great version of Eleanor Rigby by PP Arnold. The fourth division metal here is not a great cover. I'm also getting fed up of these gimmick/novelty type selections (which is what A is).

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Re: CC Round 8 Match 5
I don't understand the notion that doing a cover is as simple as A) Pick a song we like B) Do it like us. If you're not going to find something in the song that actually benefits from a fresh approach, don't expect me to be impressed with your taste, or for that to be enough.
B isn't particularly interesting, or a unique choice for a cover, or my kind of music particularly, but at least it does a little more by finding the 'riff rock' elements within that song. Faint praise, but it's something.

Oh great, an offensively-self-satisfied "re-imagining" of one of the Smiths' stupidest songs. Why do this? What are we supposed to think on hearing this other than "oh, the Puppini Sisters are doing 'Panic'"?
B was enjoyable for thirty seconds. Downhill from there, but that was enough in this tie.

C'mon, you chose a novelty version of Panic, and didn't pick Frank Sidebottom? Man, what a waste. Dreadful.
B isn't a good original, isn't a particularly inventive cover, but didn't have anything to do.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I was hoping A would be the Reparata and the Delrons Panic. What do we get for our trouble and pain?
B is terrible. It’s not about Eleanor Rigby at all – it’s about them.
I won’t abstain. Voting in cups where the choice is so poor,

Re: CC Round 8 Match 5
a - well, I thought that was big fun, you miserable gits. 6.5 / 10
b - could hardly fail to be better than the original, simply because FMWTA isn't being doe-eyed and 'sincere' over it, but the song is still utter pants, a dreadful thing and they – well the singer, anyway - show it far too much respect. Still, I retain a mild interest in Pavlov's Dog, and they sound like them without the squeaky singer, so 3 / 10

I did enjoy A. Panic is one of the few Smiths songs that don't give me allergic reaction, and this cover was fun. Eleanor Rigby is a song I don't mind in either sense but this cover was pants.
