B is interesting in parts, I guess, but it's also overwrought and far too long. A is less interesting, and in fewer parts, but less overwrought and shorter. It's close.

. Got Jimi's autograph after the show and went on to see him several times that year

Not sure about the track we're considering. There is no clear cut at 10:23. Anyway what I've heard until the 11' mark and I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks. There were some interesting parts in B, but honestly I got tired after 10 minutes, and anyway it was not going to win.

In a sea of preposterosity Hammill rules as the Emperor of preposterousness.

I'm impressed by Hammill's power and stamina in B, but I prefer A's playfulness (and it has a fiddle, which always helps).

I've only listened to A so far and I don't understand what frame of mind you'd have to be in to want to devote time to it.
It's probably transcendent or something but I don't get it.
Having read the comments about B I'm not exactly gagging with excitement at this point....

Re: PP2017 Final Round Match 6
one of those strange kinda match-ups (i'm a fan of those, by the way.)
A has stuff i can hang my horns on. it *is* playful in its quirky, freaky way (and fiddle *does* always help.) B is a trip, hammill being wicked (diff sense of horns in this case), and it is really more of a "me" thing, even though it does overstay its welcome a bit. i was kinda expecting some sort of kick-back-in which never came. maybe it's just me. still, sometimes, over the top can really hit my bottom line.
i dunno. i think it's a toss up.
hm.
i'll go with hammill. but i'm happy either way.

You're right, of course - no idea how this time tag came about, the right one would have been at 9:10.
Not that it would have changed a thing, mind...
