A is an excellent soul ballad that is much much more Daryll Hall than Fripp. In fact the whole Exposure album is Fripp trying hard not to be Fripp. Quite out of place in this cup, IMO.

B is one of those tracks that justify the time spent listening to new things through this competition. This is what I'm here for. Thanks to the person who has chosen it.

Whatever happened to Swans eh? I liked the brutalist ear-fucking of the early stuff. However when compared to Darryl Hall this is like listening to Carcass.

I like that Swans can actually whip up a little drama without being a sheer aural assault. Nothing against sheer aural assaults, they have their place too. But A is just too disjointed, two giant egos pulling in separate directions. I like some Hall & Oates hits of that era, but trying to bring the same soul smoothness to more arty stuff, and without Oates to add a little subtlety and contrast, it's just too gleamy and gutless.

That would be a B.

A is Fripp? Far from the great stuff Fripp has done. I like a bunch of H & O songs but this does nothing for me.

B is a nice track from Swans as it doesn't go to far. Might not be prog but it gets my vote over A

i'm not sure what i'm gonna do here, even as i type. mwhaha. yeah, i guess i get why folk don't dig A, but to me, it was a mood and a vibe and it was sweet.

i thought a minute into the swans track, it would be an easy win. and then i started to get bored of it, as it kept doing the same thing, until around the 7 minute mark when it changed up. not that it changed up drastically after that, although it amped it up a bit. no disrespect to the picker, but i got tired of it again. i do have a very long attention span (as a prog lover, among many other things), but i really can't fight the feeling this was overly long, drawn out, over not all that much. forced drama. maybe i would like it more watching the movie, but the video didn't do a damn thing for me, so who knows.

i'll buck the trend and go for the short and sweet mode.

I think I'm a bit more positive about A than some of the above remarks are, but B is just top-tier Swans and thus gets my vote. Only caveat is that the live version off of Swans Are Dead is even better.
