What's Samurai Cop doing in a soul-jazz album?! Image

A is way too smooth and coked-out for my tastes. B isn't necessarily the best by either band, but still good stuff all in all, and thus gets my vote.

Jaysus.

Don't really like either so much. A does not sound like Prog to my ears, but of the 2 it's the one I would choose to hear again, even if B has the vibes and oboe.....A has that swell mellotron (must be that Jumper guy).....

Slap Happy is unlistenable bollocks. No redeeming features at all.
I'm still waiting for Randy Crawford in A. Its going to be a long wait.

A just goes on and on and on. Great players, but I just can't appreciate the context being that i don't own a yacht and I'm fresh out of champagne.

B is engaging and light on its feet. Miss Cutler's clatter, but it still has Dagmar and Frith's Frippp imitation.

B

A is not fusion to me its more like elevator music or that new smooth jazz stuff I can't handle. Bring back the Carole King version over this piece of sh*t

A may be too drawn out and coked up (i have never been on a yacht, although i *have* fallen out of a bass boat), but i will take it and like it over B, which just doesn't work for me at all.

What Kath said... B is unconvivial and disjaunted.

Not feeling A at all. I'm also a fan of both Slapp Happy and Henry Cow, but I reflect similar thoughts as algroth on this not being among their best. That being said, B will be my vote by default.

Oh fuck, that round really went by too quickly (and I was very busy too) - and I'd have won one at last if I had voted for myself!
