I mean, A isn't necessarily Wyatt's finest moment but you need something more than B to have me vote against God Himself. A

Re: PP2017 Round 3 Match 8
"Well done, god!" "Give us a sign, for Christ's sake!" So much better than XTC's "Dear God." Less strident, and funny as hell*. And Wyatt.
Again, certain artists need to have something objectionable about the song to keep me from voting for it. Not happening with A.
The musicianship on B is, I suppose, impressive if you like that sort of thing. Bit much for me, but fine if that's how you roll...
*which is coincidentally where Wyatt is going for his blasphemy.
Kidding.

Great lyrics in A, pity they don't come with a song. B got lucky.

I sometimes wonder whether I have a different set of ears, but it's in B I don't see any trace of a song, whereas in Wyatt's little ditty I hear one of the most wonderful and memorable "prog" melodies I know. But I guess it takes more than a couple of listens to grasp and love it.
Anyway, A, obviously.

Don't like either much. A's main problem is Wyatt's annoying vocals but B has annoying vocals too just to even things up but B did seem to just get going as it ended.

I found A a bit boring, there doesn't seem to be any connection between Wyatt's vocals and the admittedly fairly pretty guitar line.
B reminds me of the kind of thing Chris Connelly and various Ministry/Killing Joke bods were doing in the mid 90s. Murder Inc, Damage Manual, that kind of thing, just with less inspiration.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

A has that acousticity i so enjoy, here in a sweet, fleeting kinda way.
B is richer to me, especially in the shaking-my-bootay department. mwhaha.
oh, i'll take B.

A has beautiful guitar. Didn't like the vocals.
B rocks my world. Adrian Belew hasn't sounded this inspired in a long time... that opening/closing boogie riff and the absolutely unhinged solo are uproariously inspired. I get that some people are turned off by his vocals, but I'm not one of them. I think the vocal effects on this one have to do with the subject matter. And also... Stewart Copeland plays his entire ass off. I will be buying this CD the day it comes out.
