this is officially a dilemma. i love both of these tracks. i love them, i say.

the floyd is all manner of groovy. i love all those lil sections, the freaky psych ones, the bluesy piano bounce, the trippy gweetar scaling in syd-floydian ways. as batty as it seems around the edges, i think there is very clearly a method to the faux madness... i think it all holds together beautifully somehow. it's true. i love it as an entry in this competition, too. i have been a piper freak ever since i first heard the album (my avatar name on a few other boards is still astronomy domino's™), but i rarely hear anyone talkin about this one. siiigh.

then my garden-gnomish lad, peter. i went berserk when this album finally came out. while there are many who don't think it comes close to so, iiiiiii think it's fantastic. us may have a couple of 'so-esque' tracks, but the rest of it is richer, deeper, closer to the heart in very... i dunno, almost subtle ways. deceptively so, methinks. and secret world is my fave. this live performance, this tour, this era, is peter at his live best, in my opinion. another cool entry pick... not one of the usual peter albums to get mentioned.

it honestly doth suck that i hafta choose between em.

i'll go with peter. sniffle. as groovy as that floyd track is (and it is), 'secret world' is much more of a developed, deeper, even kinda epicky of a thing.

sorry, A.

Very tough choice. A is from one of my favourite albums of all time. But B made the hairs on my arms stand up. Sorry A.

Much as I LOVE Pink Floyd, at the moment I'm going through a PG trip and the chosen track ticks all the right boxes.

The Floyd is great and that track is generally overlooked but I've always loved it.

The Gabriel is also great and he was on top form on that tour and gave one of the best concerts I've seen.

I hate to vote against Floyd but I have to go with Gabriel here.

Man...tough one but that Floyd-track has a bit more oomph to it than Gabriel...
