One of the best Post-Prog bands around. A great choice by (I guess) Ray.

what a bizarre yet groovy ... even eclectic... mix (har har har) of things in B. so folky, with a deep, rich sound, but with almost penny-laned horns layered in, in cool ways. nice gweetar sound and percussion throughout. it's weird... they have all manner of "brit"-like elements, but they sound strangely other. non-tullan, non fairport. almost like a semi-psych touch in the gweetar. i can't explain it. but mannn... this thing sounds incredibly good for 68, ya know what i mean? sounds remastered or some damn thing.

then there's more anathema. ya know, i don't own any anathema, and someone is clearly responsible. this stuff is truly kickass. but i have none. this is a vexy thing. why do i have none? naturally, i blame huw.

while B's a cool thing, it's out-gunned here, in my opinion. A is for anathema.

Anathema was good but Eclection was a delight.

B is an inspired choice. Gerry Conway, Trevor Lucas and Poli Palmer did a stint with them.

More folky stuff and I'm fine with that as that Eclection track was rather nice with great trumpet lines.

The Anathema track positively soars and has been delighting my ears since I first heard it via a copy from Huw a few years back. What great taste that man has!

The Anethema track seemed a bit bog-standard compared to that amazing track of theirs someone chose in an earlier match. Eclection were always a good solid Championship outfit rather than the Premiership. But "In The Early Days" is a thing of beauty. Good vocals from Trevor Lucas from the days before his meal-ticket showed up and fantastic trumpet from Mike Rosen.

Easy one.

In the last round I voted for John Renbourne over my own Anathema pick and ended up losing by a point. This is a similar sort of match up but Eclection are nowhere near the same quality. It's an easy A for me.
