i've never heard stackridge before... what a groovy turn on. they sound great, almost beatlish in some ways but still slightly off (in the good way) and interesting and folksy and tight and bouncebouncebounce. i will seek out more of this, forsooth. it is happifying music. i would've picked it over some of the tracks we've already had in round 1.

but schizoid man is, after all, schizoid man. schizoid man. ya know? one of THE most brilliant, ahead of its time, bizarre, crunchy, gut-punching, nightmare-inducing, instrumentally well-endowed, riff-heavy pieces of music this world has ever known. that's what it is.

Now this is really difficult as I love both of these toons. But I suppose for robustness it has to be.........

Always detested Stackridge - too much twee and not enough whimsy. And then they reformed to annoy me all over again! They're gonna get stomped all over here by "Schizoid Man". Can't say I'm bothered.

Bit harsh. They are great fun live (albeit a little 'twee').

Another vote for the Schizoid Man.... A

Quite simply a huge piece of music - all the stuff that Kath said - multiplied by 21.

Greatb to see a Stackridge track included but it is very difficult to vote against a Crimso track - particularly Schizoid - which even after all these years and thousands of plays is mind-blowing

I know, for me, it is predictable but:

I really like Stackridge though they can veer towards musical hall tweeness but they have some superb tunes. It's great to see them perform The Last Plimsoll live on that clip. "Happifying" music indeed.

I got to vote for Schizoid though.

Come on Huw, where's that vote you were promising? Do I have to canvass door to door??

I've never knowingly heard Stackridge before and that wasn't what I was expecting at all, in a blindfold test I'd have guessed at the Lightning Seeds. It was pleasant but it wasn't one of the most thrilling pieces of music ever. Which 21st Century Schizoid Man is. So thanks very much to B but I've got to vote for A.

Not fussd with the Stackridge, really. A wins easily, despite the waterbrain choice.

Unluck Blue. It was a tough task for Stackridge to take on KC. Under normal circumstances Stackridge would have got my vote. Luck of the draw I suppose.
