A features an exciting groove and some beautiful arrangements. Too bad it is paired to an all-time fave from the mighty Band

The Band were done by this time and ko-kang had gotten in the way.

The Band are in the pantheon, but not on the strength of this one. Roy Ayers is not afraid to go places. He don't need no campfire. A

Vote for A for sounding like a Blaxploitation movie soundtrack and for the benefit of not being The Band...

A has an ace bassline but otherwise leans very very heavily on The Big Book Of Funk Cliches. And I'm sorry Roy, I had to look it up on Wikipedia, I couldn't figure it out by just thinking about it.
B, meanwhile, is The Waltons playing reggae. Think about that.

The Roy Ayers is a monster jam, but when it goes into that instrumental break it really goes somewhere quite special. One of the best picks of the competition. Nice arrangement and vocal in B, but the song didn't really grab me. It's decent enough though.

A personal favorite that would skate past ANY Band song. That's right, you heard me.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A. I hold the Band responsible for Ryan Adams and his ilk. Twats the lot of em.
