All of the new tracks are new to me and all are listenable but none of them got me excited. So I'll go with my initial judgement.

I prefer A

Not much to choose between the original lists. Of the additions - Mark Eric channels The Beach Boys to great effect, Eddie Bo is a good but rather generic slice of NO funk (and not as good as 'Express Yourself'), but I have no time for the simpering indie of The Lucksmiths. They want to sound like The Smiths, but come across more like a third division Housemartins.
I think B's three are stronger anyway, but pride of place must go to "The Cooks.." pick. This is up there with the best UK Psych and should be much better known - stabbing lysergic guitar, moody percussion and piccolo trumpets and its a great tune to boot.

Both sides have really dug deep for their new picks - and two out of each new three are great.

B just takes it overall due to its much stronger original eight.

A tough one - and these might just be the best remaining lists.

I think ultimately it's gotta be A - still grateful for the Jerry Moore, and the Impressions, Morrison, Kirk, and LeVette are all pretty great too. Though I agree with G that it's a disappointing Bo pick. I got more excited than I should have been when I saw the name.

B's additions are certainly the better of the two - the Ranglin is a slow-burner for sure, and the Californians (of all names) is another great discovery. But it's not quite enough to overcome the 'lull in the middle' of the initial list. Stephen Stills - at least the post 1971 version - can screw up a lot of things.

Not madly impressed with either to be honest.
My notes say 'Nice voice, dull tune' for Mark Eric. I'm not sure why Eddie Bo is quite so arsed about the state of my bucket - the handle fell off a couple of days ago as is happens... I'm now wondering if it's all some kind of a metaphor. G mentions Express Yourself which is of course why this tune is kind of familiar but sadly not living up to its more famous sibling. The Lucksmiths are The Smiths in a rubbish parallel universe which is not to say Australia is a rubbish parallel universe though of course :)

Out of the six new tunes here, In the Rain was my personal favourite. The other two in B were pretty crap, but Ernest takes the prize for list B despite that...

Though I didn't like any of the new 3 for A, it's a better overall list for me. Really like the Jerry Moore, Fauna Flora, Lavette, and a couple more. B had one addition I really liked, the Ernest Ranglin.

I'm all for digging a bit deeper with an artist to uncover a hidden gem, but the CSN and Dionne simply aren't as good as debut CSN or Dionne with Burt. Ranglin was a great choice but in the end I can't ignore A's triple whammy of Jerry Moore/Impressions/Bettye Lavette.

Nothing B has added moves me away from A. Although In The Rain made me ponder it for a while .

New picks on List A just seem more obscure artists that sound like all the other artists BCB likes.

New pick on List B are GOOD SHIT!

The original 8 are about evenly matched so it's down to the new 3 to decide between these two lists and this is where B comes out on top with three splendid new songs, all very different from one another but all clicked with me on first listen. Only the Mark Eric track interested me from list A's additions.

Man, 2 really good playlists. Shame one has to lose. I call them about same in the first selections, but in the additions B draws ahead. Love that cover of The Dramatics' classic.

This is rough. Do I reward B for having tbetter new tracks chosen (Californians and Ranglin, very nice!) or reward A for the overall stronger first 8?
Still grooving to Jerry Moore (got the album, thanks!) and in all I think A has got the greater heights for me.

mixed batches both and the additional tracks don't change much (This must be the most boring Khruangbin track I've ever heard and Mark Eric is totally yawnsville too)

A for Bettye and Kate, mostly
