I was a huge Cabs fan in the late 80s. But, as they so memorably whispered menacingly, why kill time when you can kill yourself?

B's a Fifth Form laugh, but A just has more enjoyable tunes.

I can forgive some obvious picks. God knows I'll take that over some of the willfully obscure shit sometimes put forward, but a run of Gabriel, Bowie and Bush is really pushing it, and Space Oddity ???? For fuck's sake. you'll need to try harder than that to get my vote. As it is B does enough to earn it with Durutti Column, Little Junior and Alex Chilton, plus you have to admre the bravery/foolishness of picking Shirley Collins, which is great of course but hardly seems a vote winner.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

B

The Cabaret Voltaire and Durutti Column songs are cool and that Shirley Collins one is absolutely gorgeous and they’re also less obvious than Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and Space Oddity, the latter of which I quite like but have heard a billion times before. I also like El-P and the album Tasmanian Pain Coaster is on but I think that’s one of his weaker efforts.

Must remember to look into And Also The Trees.

i do quite like B, it has much coolness and variety. A works more for me, though. i can see why some folk see the gabriel, bowie and bush picks as too obvious, but i think they work in the list in a major way when it comes to the whole feel of the list. not just the music, but ... i dunno what to call it, maybe a space/heaven/ghosts/earth bent floating around. who knows what my antennae really pick up on. mwhaha. i loved those interior picks, too. (yeah, i also need to look into and also the trees.)

Lots of tracks to listen to. The difference is B's were much more rewarding. Plus it had Shirley Collins.

Don't really like either list that much, and couldn't get to the Interpol track. So, by default, A has it for the epic and shuddersomely wonderful Kate Bush pick.

Good lists both. Going with A here though both offered some new and interesting artists for me.
