A is a plodding spacey rock-out that has never done much for me.

So B it is.

Just listened to the rest of the album - turgid stuff. Prog at its worst - a la Soft Machine and all that other tuneless nurdly self indulgent rubbish.

The 5 minutes chosen (which I did like) is the only bit of the entire album that makes any musical sense to me.

C minus I'd say.

Sometimes one has to let rip a little. I've already been through the polite and semi-constructive stage. Imagine what I'll be like in a couple of months time.

Hopefully my mood will ebb and flow, but there hasn't half been some rubbish posted up in the name of prog so far.... ;)

Oh, I didn't think the Big Big Train was that bad, certainly not rubbish.

I love Gilgamesh - I have both of their 70s albums.

Led by Alan Goven heformed Gilgamesh in 1973 and started a collaboration with Hatfield and the North, eventually founding National Health with Hatfield and the North's keyboardist Dave Stewart in 1975

A great choice

As much as I love Hawkwind

:D. Actually, I've been listening to some of English Electric on You Tube today and enjoying it very much. I also checked them out on Wiki and was surprised to see they come from just up the road from me in Bournemouth: shows how much I'm out of the loop these days . I'm certainly going to do some further investigating, so you might see me in post-prog corner yet ;).

I thought it'd be worth mentioning - today I went shopping and spotted Gilgamesh's debut. Took it back with me. :)

congrats, dust, on the first win in the competition and yer first win as a prog prem competitor.

meanwhile...

dear pigpen~~

do notice i voted for you. sure, i didn't KNOW it was you, and it wouldn't've mattered if i had. however, i think it is relevant and significant that i voted for you, all the same, even though you are cheating scum. with that in mind, i think you owe me one (1) beverage of my choosing at the next synch listen, as imaginary as it'll be. in hono(u)r of lemmy, i say i want a double shot of jack, water & ice on the side.

yers in friendship blood on the battlefield,

You're a good lass even though you voted against me!!

It didn't look good early doors mind you

However i'm delighted with the 3 points, we could have folded after a shaky start but dug in, clawed our way back into the match, showed grit & determination & the 2nd half performance was much improved
