Re: BCB Cup 2013 - The Final!
A's a little bit stuffy for me and the more obscure picks like Bruno Spoerri, Cherokee Dance and that awful Hal song don't float my boat much. B has that sparkle and its obscure songs hit harder (Cybotron, Dr Octagon). That Allah Wäkbarr track almost made my list and it's got a bit more range as well. Hell even the Brazilian track is passable so, well done A but it's gotta be the best list left...

I'm going to listen to all of both before voting (hopefully tonight) - I challenge others to join me.

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - The Final!
After my list went out, these two struck me as the two best and now here they are. I favored A a little more in the earlier rounds, but B picked a great Gang of Four track and Gossip is a real favorite for me. A swung it back, however, with an absolute killer Donald Byrd track.

Believe it or not, the Donald Byrd song got it over the hump with me too.

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - The Final!
It is very close, but I'm going to go for B.
I definitely prefer B's new five (- that helped me decide), and I think that now B has the greater consistency and impact. A also has a couple of (earlier) weak spots for me (Hal, Buzzcocks). Gotta pick one - I like B more. Sorry, A!

Re: BCB Cup 2013 - The Final!
Apologies to A, who's list I've complemented before (I'm flip-flopping like mad here), but B has pulled it out of the bag with a list that has grown into a very cool thing. Maybe slightly cooler than my tastes but it squeaks it here. Well played, sir.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

i do dig B's new/final fives... but it's not quite enough to stop the train that is A. i've been in A's corner from the first round, and it really hasn't lost its mojo for me. ya ya ya.
congrats to both listers for a worthy final.
