Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A is a bit hipsterish for me but wins me round with the latest five.

Yeah, Team Good Taste in full flow!

I guess B, but neither turns me on.

Split Enz have a lot of better songs than I Got You, but Sweet Lady Genevieve is a great choice, Cold Brains, I Saw the Light and Roll Away The Stone are enough to win it for B

Another toughie..A still looks a little calculated in some respects, but it again scores high on quality and I love that Nelson Angelo & Joyce album. I dig B's diversity and I like that it's gone for some classic disco in its new five.

I'm abstaining for now.

It's funny to me that A is the one being accused of being hipster- I think it has the more personality of the two. Both very good lists, but B is a bit more self-consciously BCB-friendly. And I like some ATV a lot, but that's a pretty limp choice (pun intended). I'm also a sucker for diversity if it's all good and it hangs together despite being disparate. It's tough to do, and A does it well.

A is generally more my neck of the musical woods and has a strong new five with Eno and James Carr and the Nelson Angelo & Joyce pick from the magical year of 1972. B has a Mott the Hoople track which is a) great and b) possibly symptomatic of running out of steam. And as for the ATV track oh no no no.
