That's fair. :)
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Off to Japan and the inlaws. I may miss a vote here and there over the next two weeks. Apologies.

So when do the quarters start?

I was hoping to post all four quarter-final ties tonight. However, I only have six of the eight lists. I'm going to make the draw now, and I'll post two ties tonight, at the very least.

I don't mind at all if you want to split the ties over two nights.

Awful thing when that happens. I had a similar experience at a Tom Jones concert.

It would help me if they were split, actually, because I listen to the entire lists during the course of a day and then post my vote in the evening. Managing to listen properly to 8 lists in a couple of days would be pushing it.

OK, I'll do it that way. Hopefully, I'll have all lists up by tomorrow night - I'll send chasers out to the two stragglers tonight!

There's one new tie posted now. Unfortunately, I'm still awaiting one list; I note that the PM I sent last night chasing is unopened, which is ominous.

This is what I've decided. I'm going out shortly, as I'm partaking in the Kettering Quiz League again. If I don't have anything when I get back, I'll send another PM explaining that if I don't have a list by tomorrow night, I'll award the tie as a walkover.

The person in question has got back to me now with an apology and a promise that I'll have the new songs by tonight...I'm sure he'll come good on this!

OK, a momentous night in the Cup, as I now know the first two semi-finalists! Furthermore, the final tie has belatedly been posted, so your votes are once more required. This cup's been a slow-burner, but there are quality lists left, and frankly I can't pick an obvious winner from here!

Hey, MM -

What's the timetable for the remainder of the Cup? Think we'll see any new matches before next week?

Thanks again for running this crazy thing - you're the man!

Largely depends on when I get lists in, really! I only have one semi-final list in so far, so I suspect we're looking at a Sunday night kick-off for the semis.

So, if you're in the semis, get those lists in ASAP!
