Let's hope your footie team do better. AOC looks hobbled though.

I want to know why the first four matches in this round gained an extra day to earn votes due to the outage, but the next four matches, which were also impacted by the limited exposure the hours long board outage subjected them to, did not get the same grace.
I feel badly criticizing. A great job has been done handling this monumental task. But I found myself feeling like the we got the short end of the stick. I don't think I would have won had I been blessed with an extra 24 hours, but I genuinely did enjoy reading the comments that went along with the votes.

I agree.
The ties 5-8 were still quite young when the outage happened and so were particularly disadvantaged, whereas most of the voting had already been done with the first four ties. I think Andrew just made a mistake -it happens, so I guess you'll just have to take it on the chin.

Yeah, I think I probably got this one wrong with hindsight. The difference that I reasoned was that the outage happened just as the time was running out for the Sunday ties, so those who were still planning to vote on Tuesday would have been deprived of the chance of doing so. Meanwhile, anyone unable to vote for Monday's night matches on Tuesday night still had ample chance to vote on Wednesday in those matches (I'm using GMT times here; make adjustments for your local clocks), so my unconscious reasoning was that those matches weren't affected in the same manner. I probably should have at least spelt out precisely what the deadline was.

But, of course, consistency says that I should have arranged for an extended deadline for those matches too. Unfortunately, the only match that was ever likely to have been affected was yours, Sambient, although whodathunkit's stats show that a turnaround was probably unlikely. Apologies for that; I do regret this.

The count that whodathunkit did put my mind at ease. A nice bit of reality to offset my perception. All the extra time would have done was gotten my opponent some additional votes.
