The new additions to both lists are relatively weak. Odd Can selection (I mean, why? - is 'Mother Sky' too obvious or something? damn this 'dig-deep' ethos!), and the obnoxious Gang of Four.

There's a couple more in A I like, anyway.

Both have, disappointingly, become rather BCB mainstream lists. I was excited by A's Roland Kirk selection in its original ten, but that's now looking a one off. I think B has rather more for me overall.

A has Kraftwerk, so B it is.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I find these lists be much of a muchness, so I'm looking for the odd standard track. And I'm zeroing in on that gorgeous slice of Mazzy Star. Swoon...

Erm, it's A

A has some odd picks by good artists or odd artists covering good songs, but B misnames one of its best songs, "Legend of a Girl Child Linda," and doesn't have much for me besides that.

Quite a lot of right-artist-wrong song syndrome in B. A still floats my boat. Good Bonnie Raitt pick.

A starts and ends so nicely- love that Dr. John song, and Can's poppiest number- but Mazzy Star and REM sink 'em. B has several weak moments too- the newer stuff, mainly- but there's enough that I really love there- particularly the Thompson choice- to win me over.
