Very tight.
I make this 39-36 to A.
Martha's vote excluded as it was after time.

I've just done a page-by-page recount, and I agree with Moddie's tally. Sigh...B was my very favourite list, from Rank Bajin. Many commiserations, Campbell, because that was a mighty list. A wasn't shabby either to be fair, so congratulations and I'll expect five more songs from you very shortly. Thanks!
(NB - it's been brought to my attention that on page one there was an accidental double-vote for B, so that makes things even clearer)

Ach, well, it was a good run, my best ever in fact. I think the winning list was pretty darned good too, so fair enough (although clearly I think my list was considerably better - that's the way of the Cup). And Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) >>>>> She's A Rainbow, imo. Some generous comments on the way, too, which is always cool.
One thing I noticed this year was that each night I had a list 'live', the overnight run from the US or Aus/NZ would seem to vote en-bloc against my list, while the day shift, predominately UK, would vote for it. Perhaps choices like Madness, Felt and Japan don't travel that well... and of course there were exceptions to this trend as well.
The fact is, it was just a list of songs I love that I thought may go down well in the Cup. I know this year the Cup has veered into Mix Club territory at times, which can be hit-or-miss. However, if you look at the likely quarter finalists, its mainly the usual combo of cool but not trying too hard, popular but not obvious, varied but not tokenistic. It's actually more difficult to pull off - and to remain honest - than it looks. So well done to the winner here, it's only going to get tougher though!
So, not much need for Bitter Recriminations, really. However, the anonymity of the Cup has meant I've not been able to reply to the BR from a previous contest, which effectively had me painted as a brazen vote harvester (per Jeemo's great phrase), a pseud and... actually, I'll leave it to the appropriate thread. Safe to say, I thought it was a tad undignified.
Finally, kudos to Andrew for doing this - not just because of the kind words re my list earlier. I'm pretty sure it's a logistical nightmare - but he's keeping the whole show on the road admirably. Until 2012...

Yeah it's interesting, but you're right there are definitely national voting trends. I tend to have the opposite problem to you, it's the British/European vote I struggle to get.

Hey! I voted for you two! As for me, my votes were spread pretty evenly across the board (so to speak), but I could pick more or less which posters would vote for me.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

Hell, it's been a long day. No more recriminations for me. The fact my list got this far on merit is enough and I really can't be bothered with the inevitable slanging match that would ensue if I were to reply to the risible post I referred to above. Lessons have been learned, though.
Let the Cup continue!
