Still lovin' A, though I like some of B a lot.

A isn't bad as such, but there is a numbing predictability to it. Most of these songs would look fine individually in other lists but taken as a whole I can't get very excited by it. It's a list that has a very firm idea of important artists and doesn't look outside that and loses an adventurous, freewheeling side of music as a result.
B looks quite adventurous by comparison though I'm not keen on some of its artists. It has enough freshness and character here though.

A's new five are excellent but faaar too predictable for this stage and so is B's to be honest but slightly less predictable so....

B has my favourite Nick Drake and Popol Vuh - I considered includng them in my selection but realised that I didn't know any track titles - and my favourite Smiths song - and the mighty Cherry Red - another I considered - and Todd's hit. I realise these, with exception of Popol Vuh, are among the best known tracks by the artists, but it's a list that I like. A would normally win.. Sorry A.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A is strict tempo BCB with not an ounce of adventure to it. B is a mess but a rather attractive one.

B. I liked both lists about the same, but B doesn't have The Fall.

And despite the overwhelming initial support for B that we're seeing here so far, I really think A is going to win -- not just this round, but the cup. It would absolutely destroy my list if I came up against it, so thank fuck I have not. If I knew whose list it was I'd bet on it.

if A wins it would be a BCB disgrace!
