I could be wrong, but I suspect list B has just gone for a list of songs they really like and in mixing things like The Beatles and The Stones with Massive Attack and Donna Summer have tried to show a variety of taste. In the context of this competition, it can't help but look like some staunch defence of traditionalism but I doubt such sub-texts were intended.
