I made it as far as the quarter finals on my first attempt. When you're a Fulham supporter, you know that's a real victory.

Congrats, Mike B! And to those three plucky posters who lost to me in the first three rounds, I say

IN YOUR FACE!
"I've been reduced to thruppence!"

Congratulations, Mike.

It's hard enough winning the cup once, let alone back to back. The makings of a dynasty perhaps?

Good job too, Tapiocahead. Without you, we wouldn't be having these BCB Cups.

I forgot to vote in the final

I would have voted A. Sorry tapiocahead but at least it wouldn't have made a difference.

Well done Mr Boom. Obviously you should be banned for the next 2 years to give everyone else a chance, but still, well played Sir!

Congratulations!

Out of interest, to what extent was your list a good representation of what you normally listen to, and to what extent did you broaden or limit your normal taste for the competition?

For myself, I excluded anything progressive, otherwise it was all stuff I play regularly.

The list pretty well sums up to what I like to listen to, though it tends towards all time favourites, all are songs that I think have something special about them. And contrary to some opinions expressed there is not one song, and neither would I even contemplate putting one song on that list, that I do not wholeheartedly love. To me, and I'm sure this applies to everyone, if I were to pick songs that I didn't particularly like but that I thought would win votes, it would take all the fun and enjoyment one gets from the competition in the first place. However, I will admit to leaving a few things out, like Prog, but then again my interest and love of Prog pretty much comes from having listened to my big brothers records in the seventies when growing up, so its always been a bit of a nostalgia thing for me, and I've never really thought of it as MY music, though I have a deep affection for a lot of it. The first record I bought for myself was T Rex , the Slider, and I guess the first music I really got into on my own was 70's punk/new wave like Costello and Blondie and the all the chart stuff played on FM radio in that era, and was an avid NME reader for years, hence my fairly alt/mainstream tastes.

Congrats Mike, this is why we wanted you for America. Tapiocahead, nice job as well, you knocked me out with a good list.

Griff as always, I will consider your request of a small gratuity so that I may progress further in the cup, but seriously, 1000 pounds is a bit much.

Good job all.

Oh I wouldn't worry, he'll start running out of ideas soon and have to include rubbish like Yeah Yeah Yeahs on his list. Oh, wait...

Congratulations again though, Mr Boom; despite the recriminations, arguments and abstinences, almost everything on your list is of the finest quality and to win two years in a row is quite a feat.

Congratulations, Mike Boom, some great stuff on that list. It's good to see a NZer who doesn't choke in the knockout stages. Now, if you only you could teach the All Blacks a thing or two....

I missed out on the last bits for too many reasons, but as i watched the lists got far more interesting. Congrats Mike on a very fine list...and thanks Griff for running this. Hopefully I can make a better showing in '10.
Oh boy is it getting rough, when my old world charm isn't quite enough.
