Not enough white boys with guitars for me in either list.

But I prefer B

Why is casting a wide net a good thing anyway?

It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

That's How I Escaped My Certain Fate - Mission Of Burma good

List B:

Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs good
Tam Lin - Fairport Convention good
I've Got to Use My Imagination - Gladys Knight & The Pips dunno
Nightclubbing - Iggy Pop very good
Im Not A Juvenile Delinquent - Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers dunno
Trash - The New York Dolls very good
Butterfly McQueen - Boo Radleys dunno
Use Me - Bill Withers dunno
Fame - David Bowie so-so
Blank Generation - Richard Hell & the Voidoids so-so
Rave On - Buddy Holly good
Tighten Up, Pt. 1 - Archie Bell & The Drells good

It's really very close, but I think B just edges it. There's nothing there I dislike, and lots of good stuff.

A gets it for the Creative Source track which is one of the great funk tracks in the 70's, as enjoyable as much of B is I don't think it has it in them to come up with that kind of selection.

Battle of the Bill Withers tracks!! :D A picks the less obvious track and throws in Creative Source's great cover of a Withers song as well, but B picks "Use Me" - one of the mightiest tracks ever recorded by anyone.

Impossible to choose on that basis. ;)

I'm going with B because it just suits my fancy a bit more.

I've liked A since day one - it casts its net that bit wider than B.

I'm going with A.

It's just that little bit livelier, and I was going to use that stupendous Bomb The Bass trcak if I got any further.
