I love the Clash and Madonna picks in B's new 5 and it was already a list I was fond of.

A's is no disgrace but not up my alley quite so much.

Another close one but with HMHB on the list and 'Something in the Air' and the Mr Bloe track both of which resonate deeply back into my childhood-childhood-chldhood it's gotta be B

Having praised A quite a bit I've suddenly noticed how full its list is of crowd pleasing, bland tokenistic examples of US grunge lite and 90's powerpop (I'd assumed that Redd Kross one was something dancey for some reason, but I've just youtubed it and it's derivative powerpop cak). There are whole existing genres and periods ignored by A in favour of this. I'm not sure it deserved my vote after all, but I shall remain loyal.

Very very close, but I'll go for B despite Madonna, who makes my skin crawl, but elsewhere it has more gems, Big Star, Bunnymen , Neil Young, Mott, The Smiths, Televsion, The Who and Buddy.

Not mad on either list to be honest - but B has a few more I like.
Of course, I was mostly stoned at the time.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
It's kinda depressing for a music forum to be proud of not knowing musicians.
