I'm having much more fun with B.

It's kinda depressing for a music forum to be proud of not knowing musicians.

It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

This is very close - a few undeniables on both, a slightly cynical Talk Talk choice which gathered some plaudits in an early defeat....it comes down to Can't be Sure v Cherry Bomb.

Both fabulous but i've been playing a lot of Spoon recently.

A is Jellied Eel gumbo with blinis and a glass of unoaked Chardonnay. What first appears to be hearty and exotic ends up middle class and poncey.
B is a sheesh kebab with a shrimp and chocolate cocktail. Takes a while to get into, slightly overdone but with a light and jaunty freshness.

A has some good songs, but it feels a bit flat to me and also has Tom Petty's "Refugee", a song which I reserve a special place in hell for. B, on the other hand, has Curtis Mayfield, the Who at their most dynamic, Jay-Z at his most defiant, Marvin at his most pained and top it all off, Pere Ubu's phenomenal "Final Solution" and Television's peerless Marquee Moon. What a fine list B is.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.
