B. Despite A having Robert Johnson and the Smiths I can't love anything else or anything in its next 5

A is par-boiled tofu on a celeriac and granola mash. Something pretending to be something else but failing miserably.
B is a rare mutton chop in an ice cream pancake. Tough going but with a palate cooling finish.

I hate voting against any list that includes the Clean, not least perhaps my favourite Clean song of all time, but A's got jazz, literally and figuratively, and I look at the list and think, damn that's something I want to listen to. So A it is. B is fine too, don't get me wrong, but here I'm picking the one that leaps out. Sorry.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

Hmm, difficult one this. Some great stuff and some obscure on both. I think I like the overall vibe of A more on balance. Great Stereolab shout (what, not French Disko?) and a nice variety which B somehow just doesn't get to.

B has Joy Division, New Order, and the Darren Hayman clinches it.

It's a shame they were drawn together. Some stuff I don't know but the stuff I know makes me want to correct the blind spots. B is someone who ploughed a similar musical furrow to me though.

I've got this as a draw, 34 each.

Can someone else count?

Yep, recounted twice and B does indeed squeak through, 33 - 34. Cheers, Kev.

Tough on A, who was Jethro.

Shit!

That was two excellent lists, both of which would have gone far. We are forced to make a brutal, inevitably unfair choice, and live with it for the rest of our lives.

And elsewhere in other matches, the 'meh' meet the pantywaists, and one emerges the unfit victor, like a Tory Party Leader who kept his nose clean and slagged off nobody while kissing every arse within close and easy reach of his tongue.

Oh cruel and heartless BCB Cup! The Pain! The human suffering and misery! The Pain! This is why we observe, cheer, and commiserate, but the reality is oft too much to bear!

Coupled with his employment woes, Jethro is truly a 21st Century Job.
