A gets this one - not convincingly, but it just feels more like something I'd like to listen to, almost without exception.

A has lots of variety; varieties of music that sadly I don't like, whereas, although I don't rate the 5 extra B tracks, the initial 10 are enough to win it for me.

Interesting how both extra 5's cover lots of bases, presumably hoping the snare some votes that way.

Some links might have been useful in A for the ignoramuses like me.

It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

Yes, A's shaping up nicely; that Grandaddy song is achingly lovely, and Dillinger's peculiar spelling lesson is a lot of fun. Nothing wrong with B, but I'd just enjoy A a bit more.

Despite A's addition of the mighty Plan B, I'm going to have to go with B becuase it has more of my favourite songs on it.

Like the selection of Plan B, but B is just a bit more interesting for me although both lists are similar in being a bit all over the place in their selections.

Ok, then. The PC is now back up-and-running and the iTunes is limping back into service. As a non-participant this year, my votes will be free of the usual childish bitterness and bile (except that I really coulda been a contender this time). By starting in Round 2, it is as if I had been an entrant anyway, given my usual status of first round also ran.

Anyway, the business in hand. There's plenty to like in B although Black Betty is fairly ropey. On the other hand, the selection in A is enlivened by great choices from Bill Withers, Dexy's, Specials and Dillinger. In fact, its pretty damn impressive all round.
