It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

Despite the Righteous Brothers.

But double points for the Shatner track.

B is slightly more 'straight' (by BCB standards - not a bad thing), but is let down by the presence of the vile REM, and that puzzlingly popular Twin Peaks thing. Great New Order, Curtis, and Pixies songs, tho'.

A doesn't do a whole lot for me, to be honest - the Focus one is good, that's a nice but slight Pretties number, and 'You've Lost That....' is gorgeous and always will be, but the Reed one is dead to me now, and the rest is a little ordinary.

B gets the vote.

Look up The Pop Group one on youtube, satanic wired funk from Bristol..I've not sold it very well have I? It is a great track though.

Tough call this one, A seems to fire off in a hundred different directions and imagines a musical world where Focus and William Shatner were giants, but that's a great Faces pick and who doesn't love that Righteous Brothers song? In contrast B's mix of indie and soul classics (that's a great Pop Group pick) hits more frequently, and more often.

B it is

Both have some great stuff, but I'm going for B.

I never could stand that Righteous Brothers song...

I never thought I'd see the day when Glenn Branca and the Pop Group share the same list with Curtis Mayfield and the Temptations.
