A rather too laid back list A was never going to compete with the excellent 8,9,10 combo of list B. Even the choices for Heaven 17 and Aztec Camera - two great bands - weren't, in my opinion, up to snuff.

But French Disko is one of my favourite songs, Shipbuilding is a classic and Rise is great

I'd never hear " Father's name was dad" before either and it is a top notch song.

28- 49 to B.

A was Diamond Dog.

Well , you did put an ELO song in your list.

A sure sign of desperately poor taste.

Justice has been done.

...Or "Public Image", "Memories" or "Death Disco" for that matter.

I think it's as good as those tracks. It may not have the experimental cache of those tracks, but it still works really well as this oddball pop song.

How can anyone not like "Fathers Name Was Dad" ?

He's giving them poor scores because they aren't some arcane, heard-it-a-million-times-before, and-they're-not-on-vinyl, crap.

In that case, Marcel Strong will dominate the finals!

I actually hate that Todd Rundgren song... I just do. And Father's Name Was Dad doesn't do anything for me either way. A zero is neutral in my rating system.
the Eagles suck.

Looks like last year: the lists I actively like don't stand a chance.

(but thanks for reminding me of the latter day Aztec Camera gem, DD)

No, that's bullshit... and it doesn't even make any sense, does it? Arcane and heard it a million times are kind of the opposite of each other. 0 is a neutral score, minuses are poor scores.

Pleasure Felix - yep, I'm going the same way as you.

I'm already bored to fuck of the wilfully obscure lists from the pseuds. It stinks.
