This year my Stalinist voting conceit is a range from +5 - for classic to -5 for dross.

I am trying to listen to all the songs.

List one is an interesting list but with no, for me, big hitters.

List two supplies 5s in the form of Morrissey and Bowie.

A score +3 but B scores +13

B is good, very good, but a bit too mainstream for my liking. And it has Morrissey.

But A is great, best list so far for me.

It deserves to win for the Veloso, Congos & Tandy tracks alone.

So it's a heartfelt A from me.

Sir John Coan wrote:B's choices are just that little bit safer (by BCB's standards, anyway) - most should be well-known, some well-loved. It's got 'Mother Sky' and 'Some Velvet Morning' - songs that move me more than almost anything in the world. Great Zep, NY, and Eels choices.

A has some great songs, too - it's a touch more interesting (i.e. I'd like to investigate one or two further). There's the gorgeous Gene Clark song - a fucking heartbreaker, that - and the splendid Caetano Veloso. I can't say I'm a fan of that Cale track, tho', and I often see it mentioned as one of his classics. Hm.

It's tough - we're off to a great start with some imaginative and interesting selections. I have to say I'm more excited about this year's Cup than anything I've taken part in here for a long time, and this kind of thing bodes very well.

I'm going for B, 'cos it's just a little more in tune with my tastes. But it's close.

That just about sums my views up 100%.

Another vote for B here.
